Adoption Update: Boone (FKA Jackson)

We adopted Jackson, now Boone from LHS in January. He had to spend a month with LHS due to a Brown Recluse spider bite that necrotized and nearly resulted in the loss of his leg.

The cost and chaos of the medical situation lead to Boone’s previous owner deciding to surrender him to LHS. I contacted LHS immediately and found out I could place a blind hold on Boone, I drove up from Denver as soon as possible. A month later LHS reached out to share that not only had Boone made a full recovery but he was ready to head home! I couldn’t get there fast enough.

Boone is the sweetest boy who loves snuggles every night on the couch. He has a 5 year old GSP sister that he romps around the house and yard with. He’s been out in the field hunting pheasant this year and did fabulous. He’s living his best life and couldn’t be a more perfect fit for our family.

Thank you, thank you, thank you LHS for the time and energy you put into healing our boy. I wasn’t sure if his leg would be saved based on what I knew and I am constantly amazed by the skills of the LHS vets when I look at his battle scar.
