Are you a teen who loves animals and wants to explore exciting career paths in the animal world? The Paws & Pathways Teen Program is your chance to gain hands-on experience, earn real certifications, and connect with professionals in animal care and welfare.

What You’ll Experience:

📅 Meeting with guest presentations will be held every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 5:00 – 6:30 pm in the community room at LHS.

Upcoming Guest Speakers:

February 11th
Amelia Malone, Community Engagement Coordinator for Human-Animal Bond in Colorado (HABIC) at Colorado State University, where they connect research, community programs, and education to support the therapeutic and wellbeing benefits of human-animal relationships. In their role, Amelia helps develop and share initiatives that bring evidence-based insights on animal-assisted interaction into local communities, advancing HABIC’s mission to improve quality of life through meaningful connections between people and animals.

February 22nd 10 am to 4 pm LHS Community Room
Become a Pet Safety Crusader!This hands-on Pet First Aid class teaches teens how to respond in an emergency if a dog or cat is hurt or sick. Students will learn how to check vital signs, handle common injuries, stay safe around stressed animals, and what to do until a veterinarian can take over—including the basics of pet CPR. This special training is free for teens thanks to a grant (normally $75)
