Longmont Humane Society, a Socially Conscious Shelter, provides temporary shelter to thousands of animals every year. Shelter Veterinary Technician
Full-time, $17.85-$25.00 per hour
The Shelter Veterinary Technician is responsible for the daily medical care and primary evaluations of animals entering the shelter, assists the Animal Welfare Team (AWT) members with the daily medical care and treatment of shelter animals. This position works under the supervision of the Shelter Veterinarian, Lead Shelter Veterinary Technician, and ultimately reports to the Manager of Shelter Culture and Performance or the Manager of Shelter Compliance and Training.
Our ideal Veterinary Technician will be comfortable performing physical exams and identifying abnormalities. They will be comfortable preparing and dosing anesthetic medications as well as monitoring and managing anesthesia with input from the Veterinarians. Ideally, they have obtained registration/certification, but we encourage experienced candidates to apply. This position requires medical and surgical experience. Our new Technician will be motivated, able to work independently in addition to being effective in a fast-paced team environment, respectful to other clinic team members, and sincerely compassionate with both coworkers and patients. This is a great opportunity to join a shelter care team with a hardworking, yet fun-loving atmosphere.
Some flexibility is allowed for scheduling, however, Tuesdays and Fridays are required.
Professional Dog Trainer
Full-time, $19.63 per hour
The Professional Dog Trainer works directly with the Training & Behavior Supervisor to support and assist with training & behavior modification programs, including training sessions as well as general physical exercise and mental stimulation. This position reports daily to the Training and Behavior Supervisor, and ultimately to the Manager of Shelter Culture and Performance.
Veterinarian – Well Pet Clinic
Part-time, $55.00 – $60.00 per hour
The Veterinarian serves as the medical leader of the practice, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that results in excellent treatment experiences for the patients and clients we serve, as well as an excellent employment experience for the practice’s patient care team.
The Veterinarian works with the WPC team to help ensure that quality and appropriate veterinary medicine is performed within the practice. Additionally, they partner with the Practice Manager in matters of general management, staffing/scheduling, as well as ensuring that operational and financial goals are met.
Animal Care Team Member
Full-time, $16.70 per hour
The Animal Care Team Member is responsible for daily shelter cleaning and providing hands-on care for all shelter animals, assisting with prospective adopter meetings, and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Shelter Managers – Manager of Shelter Culture and Performance, Manager of Shelter Compliance and Training – and daily to the Animal Welfare Team Supervisor.
Veterinarian – Well Pet Clinic – New Location Opening Soon!
Full-time, $100,000 – $120,000 annually
We are expanding our Well Pet Clinic! We will be opening an additional location near the shelter that will serve our community and client-owned pets. This position will be working at that new location. Opening date is TBD.

The Veterinary Technician or Assistant supports the medical team at the Well Pet Clinic (WPC). This position reports to the Well Pet Clinic Practice Manager.
Our ideal Veterinary Technician or Assistant will be comfortable handling dogs and cats and assisting the veterinarian to perform physical exams and diagnostic testing. Our new Veterinary Technician or Assistant will be motivated, able to work independently in addition to being effective in a fast-paced team environment, respectful to other clinic team members, and sincerely compassionate with both clients and patients. Receptionist – Well Pet Clinic
Full-time, $16.57 per hour

The Longmont Humane Society’s Well Pet Clinic Receptionist position is the face of the clinic, sharing information about our services to the community and managing the scheduling, intake, and check-out of patients at the clinic.
