Mental Health Affects Us All
Longmont Humane Society stands out among animal shelters in our unwavering commitment to the holistic well-being of every furry resident – we do not euthanize for space or behavior issues, except in very extreme cases – over 98% of all animals who enter our care find their way into happy, loving homes, (well over the national average of 50%). At the heart of our mission lie dedicated and passionate Animal Welfare and Behavior Modification teams, driven by the belief that every animal deserves a second chance and a loving home.
Our unique approach goes beyond providing food and shelter. We understand that each animal comes with a unique story, personality, and sometimes, challenges. Our team of experts specializes in understanding animal behavior, creating tailored training and enrichment plans, and nurturing the emotional and psychological needs of our furry friends.
With your help, we can increase our enrichment programs and help our animals find homes more quickly. Less time in the shelter means less stress, lower costs overall, and more room at the shelter for animals in need.
Animal enrichment programs are critical to the success of placing every animal in a loving home, but these programs are time-intensive and require funding. This is where your support becomes crucial: your contribution will enable us to increase enrichment activities and opportunities for our shelter residents.
From shy kittens to boisterous pups, our team works tirelessly to address anxiety, fear, and any behavioral issues that might hinder these animals from finding their forever families. Through positive reinforcement, patience, and enrichment activities, we transform their lives and set them on the path to becoming beloved companions.
When you support Longmont Humane Society, you’re not just contributing to a building with walls; you’re supporting a haven of transformation, where animals are not only rescued but are also given the tools they need to thrive in their new homes.
Our dedication to creating well-adjusted and adoptable animals has garnered recognition not only within our community but also beyond. Longmont Humane Society receives hundreds of requests from animal shelters across the country to transfer their difficult cases into our care, and when we have space, we welcome them. It’s not uncommon for other animal shelters to seek out our guidance and training methods, acknowledging our shelter as a beacon of knowledge and innovation.
Join us in making a difference that goes beyond the surface, as we shape brighter futures and create heartwarming success stories, one animal at a time.
