Scout Programs
At Longmont Humane Society, our Humane Education Program is dedicated to nurturing knowledge and inspiring compassion in our community. Through our LHS C.A.R.E.S. program (Community, Advocacy, Responsibility, Education, and Service), we offer unique opportunities for scouts to learn about animals, earn badges, and explore the importance of community service.
Our programs can be tailored for all scout levels and are available at your troop meeting location or hosted onsite at the Longmont Humane Society for an engaging, hands-on experience with our animal ambassadors. Each session is designed to build empathy, understanding, and responsibility toward all living beings.
All presentations are offered free of charge as our gift to the community. Donations are always appreciated to help support our mission of caring, serving, and educating to improve the lives of companion animals.
Girl Scouts Brownie Pet Badge
During the Pet Badge program, your scouts will learn valuable lessons about responsible pet care, the costs of owning different pets, how to clean a guinea pig cage, tour our facility, meet some of our animal ambassadors, and work toward earning their pet care badge. It’s going to be a meaningful and memorable experience!

Girl Scouts Take Action Badge Preparation Program
Take Action Badge Preparation Program empowers scouts to make a meaningful impact in their communities by learning how to help others in the most effective ways possible. Through interactive activities, discussions, and real-world examples, scouts explore the principles of effective altruism—using evidence and reasoning to do the most good.
By the end of the program, scouts will have the tools to take thoughtful, impactful action in their everyday lives and begin designing their take action projects.
