
Are you a teen who loves animals and wants to explore exciting career paths in the animal world? The Paws & Pathways Teen Program is your chance to gain hands-on experience, earn real certifications, and connect with professionals in animal care and welfare.
✨ What You’ll Experience:
- Career Exploration: Meet monthly guest speakers from diverse animal-related fields.
- Hands-On Learning: Go on field trips to places like wildlife rehabilitation centers.
- Practical Skills: Get certified in Pet First Aid or as National Pet Sitter
- Leadership & Advocacy: Learn how to make a difference through fundraising, social media activism, and creative projects.
- Community & Fun: Make friends who share your passion for animals while growing your future opportunities.
📅 Meeting with guest presentations will be held every 2nd Wednesday of the month.

November 12th:
Alicia Williams, a former Longmont Humane Society employee, now works at SonFlower Ranch Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Brighton, CO. She’ll share her journey earning a zoology degree and caring for both wild and domestic animals. SonFlower Ranch rescues and rehabilitates injured wildlife while educating the public about peaceful coexistence with Colorado’s native species.


December 10th
Dr. Leslie Irvine is the founder of the Animals & Society Certificate Program and a leading scholar in human-animal studies. Her work explores our emotional and ethical connections with companion animals—including in contexts of homelessness and disaster relief. Her major books include My Dog Always Eats First: Homeless People and Their Animals, If You Tame Me: Understanding Our Connection with Animals, and Filling the Ark: Animal Welfare in Disasters.
