Allergy Policy
Kids & Critters Camp involves close contact with animals and other children and includes the possibility of exposure to allergens such as fur, dander, and peanuts. • Animal Allergies: The camp includes hands-on interaction with cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and other animals. If your child has animal allergies, participation is at your own risk. Please take all necessary precautions, including providing allergy medication or other measures to manage symptoms. • Peanut and Food Allergies: Peanut butter is used throughout the Longmont Humane Society facility as part of dog treats and training. LHS cannot guarantee a peanut-free or allergen-free environment. ** I acknowledge and accept that it is my responsibility to ensure my child has the necessary precautions in place to manage their allergies during camp.
Behavioral Expectations
I understand that, if in the judgment and sole discretion of the Humane Education Coordinator, my child is unable or unwilling to follow the guidelines for safe animal interaction or if my child’s conduct endangers animals, staff, campers, volunteers, employees, or patrons of Longmont Humane Society, my child may be asked to leave. I will be notified, and no refunds will be made. I have explained these guidelines to my child, and my child understands the behavior expected.
Release of Liability
I acknowledge and understand that Longmont Humane Society (LHS) does not know the complete history of the animals in its care, and their behavior may be unpredictable. I release and discharge LHS from any and all responsibility for any injuries my child may receive as a result of being at LHS, including but not limited to bites and scratches. On behalf of my child, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless LHS, its officers, directors, agents, servants, insurers, and employees (collectively, the LHS Parties) from any and all claims, present and future, arising from or relating to (1) any act or omission of LHS Parties (excluding intentional misconduct) and (2) any damage, loss, illness, injury, or death sustained by my child during their participation in the Kids & Critters Camp. This Release is binding and enforceable against me, my child, and our personal representatives, successors, and assigns.
