Longmont Humane Society, a Socially Conscious Shelter, provides temporary shelter to thousands of animals every year. LHS provides a variety of benefits to all employees, including discounted veterinary care, pet supplies, adoption fees and free dog training classes. Employees working 30+ hours per week may be eligible for health, dental, 403(b), and life insurance; LHS subsidizes over 70% the employee’s cost of our health plan to keep it as affordable as possible.

Director of Philanthropy
Full-time, $90,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually, including bonus compensation

The Director of Philanthropy reports to the Executive Director and formulates, directs, and implements a continuing long-range financial development program to ensure a broad base of funding resources available to obtain the mission and objectives of Longmont Humane Society (LHS). This includes providing guidance for donor relations, special events, community outreach, grant writing and management of LHS foundation and corporate giving programs to meet revenue goals and promote the organizational mission. 

Executive Director
Full-time, $120,000.00 – $170,000.00 annually, including bonus compensation

The Executive Director oversees all organizational activities and provides proactive leadership and expertise. The position is responsible for the overall direction and management of the organization with a focus on results and opportunities. The Executive Director displays strong, effective leadership, management, and organizational skills, proven commitment to high performance, superior quality in all products, and accountability.

The Executive Director, in consultation with the Board, is responsible for developing a clear strategy for the Longmont Humane Society (LHS) mission-based activities and executing those activities. This position reports to the Board of Directors.

Veterinarian – Well Pet Clinic
Part-time, $55.00 – $60.00 per hour

The Veterinarian serves as the medical leader of the practice, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that results in excellent treatment experiences for the patients and clients we serve, as well as an excellent employment experience for the practice’s patient care team.

The Veterinarian works with the WPC team to help ensure that quality and appropriate veterinary medicine is performed within the practice. Additionally, they partner with the Practice Manager in matters of general management, staffing/scheduling, as well as ensuring that operational and financial goals are met.

Veterinarian – Well Pet Clinic – New Location Opening Soon!
Full-time, $100,000 – $120,000 annually

We are expanding our Well Pet Clinic! We will be opening an additional location near the shelter that will serve our community and client-owned pets. This position will be working at that new location. Opening date is TBD.

Veterinary Technician or Assistant – Well Pet Clinic – New Location Opening Soon!
Full-time or Part-time, $17.85 – $26.00 per hour

Our Well Pet Clinic is expanding! We are opening a new location very soon near the shelter. This position will be working out of that new location. Opening date TBD.

The Veterinary Technician or Assistant supports the medical team at the Well Pet Clinic (WPC). This position reports to the Well Pet Clinic Practice Manager.

Our ideal Veterinary Technician or Assistant will be comfortable handling dogs and cats and assisting the veterinarian to perform physical exams and diagnostic testing. Our new Veterinary Technician or Assistant will be motivated, able to work independently in addition to being effective in a fast-paced team environment, respectful to other clinic team members, and sincerely compassionate with both clients and patients. This is a great opportunity to join a low-cost veterinary practice with a hardworking, yet fun-loving atmosphere.
