March Meowdness

MARCH 15TH – APRIL 6TH

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE

What is March Meowdness?

32 Longmont Humane Society animals compete head-to-head in a bracket-style tournament and you decide who wins. Every vote is a donation that goes directly toward caring for the animals. The last animal standing takes home a prize package of brand-new shelter goodies and yummies. Think March Madness, but with more fur and higher stakes.

Meet the Divisions

These animals found the camera and never looked away. No blinking. No breaking. Just pure unrelenting eye contact. They came with the competitive spirit, they just entered the wrong contest. This division is not for the faint of heart, competition will be fierce.

Dark and mysterious versus bright and chaotic. Brooding versus boundless. This division is a battle of pure vibes and the tension is palpable. May the best energy win.

These animals have seen things. They have earned their spot in this bracket and they’re not here to play games. Don’t let the gray muzzles, sleepy snores, and slow trots fool you. Experience beats youth every time.

You know them. You’ve visited them. You’ve probably already picked a favorite. Coachella, Hashbrown, Saint, Chia, Henry, Elf, Bram, and Wallen have been waiting patiently in our shelter and now it’s their moment. These are the hometown heroes of March Meowdness. The crowd favorites. The ones who have earned this more than anyone. This division is the one to watch.

How Voting Works

Voting is open to everyone. Every $10 donation counts as one vote for the animal of your choice. Bundles are available too: $100 for 15 votes. You can vote as many times as you want and split votes across different matchups in the same round. Votes are cast through the donation link at the top of this page. The animal with the most votes at the close of each round moves on. In the event of a tie, LHS staff will settle it with a tiebreaker announced on social media. All donations are non-refundable and go directly toward animal care at Longmont Humane Society. Every vote counts, and so does every animal.

So… What’s the prize?

The March Meowdness Champion takes home a prize package including, but not limited to brand-new goodies and yummies for the glorious winner. Full prize details will be announced before the tournament starts. The prize stays with the animal at the shelter or goes home with them when they’re adopted.

What if my favorite gets adopted before the tournament ends?

Good news, they don’t get eliminated. They earn a special “Adopted!” stamp on their bracket photo and stay in the running. An adoption just means they are already winning at life. Keep voting for them.

Where does my money go?

Every dollar goes directly toward animal care and shelter operations at Longmont Humane Society. Food, medical care, a warm place to sleep. This may be a silly little tournament on social media, but your votes make a real difference.

Why are there barely any cats in March MEOWdness?!

Because you adopted all of them. Seriously, we are so proud and also slightly embarrassed. The cats you see includes every available cat we have, plus a very enthusiastic supporting cast of dogs and a mouse who have been training for this moment their whole lives.

Anything else I should know?

In the event of a tie, LHS staff will settle it with a tiebreaker announced on social media. All donations are non-refundable. LHS reserves the right to make final calls on all tournament matters. No purchase is necessary to follow along, but voting does require a donation. Round results and bracket updates will be posted on Instagram, Facebook, and in our email newsletter after each round closes. Questions? DM us on Instagram or reach out at info@longmonthumane.org. May the best animal win!
