Dillan grew up in Erie, Colorado with her two dogs and 5 cats. She always had a love for animals and spent much of her childhood on a friend’s farm, enjoying the company of all the critters.
Dillan began working at the Longmont Humane Society as an Animal Care Team member in September 2012. She quickly became interested in learning more about dog training and behavior modification so she began taking her personal dogs through shelter training classes to gain hands –on experience.
Dillan became a part-time Training Specialist in September 2014 and later joined the team as a full time Training Specialist in 2015. She has continued expanding her knowledge of training tools, techniques, and methods so that she can humanely and effectively utilize them all in her work to rehabilitate LHS shelter dogs. Through her experience with playgroups at LHS, Dillan has developed an interest in dog socialization and particularly enjoys taking part in rehabilitating dogs that have concerns with other dogs.
When she is not working Dillan enjoys spending quality time with her three dogs, all who were adopted from LHS. She and all three dogs especially love hiking, even the tiny 6 pound dog, Ernie!
