Training & Behavior Supervisor
Dillan Avis

Dillan began working at the Longmont Humane Society as an Animal Care Team member in September 2012. She adopted her first behavioral dog soon after starting her career at LHS, and quickly became interested in learning more about dog training and behavior modification. Dillan joined the team as a Training Specialist in 2014, and has continued expanding her knowledge of training tools, techniques, and methods so that she can humanely and effectively utilize them all in her work to rehabilitate LHS shelter dogs. In 2018, she became the Training Team Supervisor. In addition to overseeing the shelter’s Training & Behavior Program, Dillan teaches On-Leash Reactivity group classes and walks with the public, provides adoption follow up support for LHS alumni, and facilitates private training sessions. She specializes in dog socialization and particularly enjoys taking part in rehabilitating dogs that have concerns with other dogs. When she is not working Dillan enjoys spending quality time with her five dogs.
