*In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, LHS is making changes to our programs and services. We are diligently working to make as many programs accessible from home as possible including options for younger children, as well as scout and youth service projects. Please visit this page for frequent updates and other helpful information. We appreciate your ongoing support.
Early Childhood Animal Safety
For daycare, pre-K and community groups with young children, we offer the T.A.I.L.S. Program: Teaching Animal Information, Love, and Safety. This 30-minute program has been designed for young children, ages 4 years through 1st grade. T.A.I.L.S. presentations should be scheduled 3 weeks in advance and may be held at the Longmont Humane Society or at your location.
Scheduling a T.A.I.L.S. Presentation
Please complete and email the TAILS Presentation Form at least 3 weeks in advance of your preferred presentation date. If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact Amanda Dean at 303.772.1232 x289 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Scout/Youth Service Projects
Longmont Humane Society receives many requests from scout and youth groups to complete service projects at the shelter. Due to our limited resources, and to respect the needs of our staff and animals, we are unable to offer on-site service projects for youth. We encourage your group to facilitate your own fundraising and other service projects that will help our animals! Please see this document for ideas, though you are also welcome to create your own: Youth Off-Site Service Project Ideas. We will happily offer your group a facility tour as a component of your fundraising or donation project. For more information, see Tours and Donations.
Teens (ages 13-18) please vist our voluteer program webpages for information on volunteer opprtunities with Longmont Humane Society.
