LHS Dog Training Classes

Adult Volunteers

Volunteers with dogThank you for your interest in volunteering at the Longmont Humane Society. We have numerous opportunities for adults to help out at the shelter, and there are several youth programs for volunteers 18 and under.

Prospective adult volunteers for all LHS programs are required to attend one of our monthly volunteer orientations. We request a $20 contribution at  orientation for a volunteer T-shirt and  to help defray the cost of administering the program, which leaves more resources available for care of the animals.  We ask for a minimum 3 month commitment of our new volunteers.  Canine Coaches

Training and volunteer hours are determined by the needs of particular programs. For attending an orientation, you will receive a discount coupon for the LHS thrift store; all attendees who sign up also will receive a volunteer T-shirt.

Adults may volunteer with their children - children must be age 8 and older and 1 to 2 children per adult.
